Y/Project (FR) is lead by Glenn Martens, who takes an approach equal parts concept, invention, and play. The collection's proportion and detailing is unlike any other in the marketplace (oft imitated, never equalled?), often utilizing traditionally proletarian textiles, making it instantly recognizable to those who might be interested in these sorts of things, but a deft and witty hand keep it authentic in its creative and progressive vision. Perhaps its origins as a menswear line (started by Yohan Serfaty) are what make it so appealing to those that favor both highly tailored and everyday streetwear silhouettes. Whatever that impulse may be, the result is a true code of eccentricity, masculine and feminine, created with independence in mind.
